**Installing FrontPage Extensions**
**Overview**
FrontPage Extensions enable you to publish your website directly from the Microsoft FrontPage application, eliminating the need to upload files via FTP or other methods.
**Warning**: Only install FrontPage Extensions if necessary. Installing or uninstalling them will delete all `.htaccess` files for your site, erasing any custom modifications made to these files.
**Steps**
1. Access FrontPage Extensions by clicking the “FrontPage Extensions” icon on the main cPanel interface of your gptservers.net hosting account.
2. To install, select the “Install Extensions” option.
**Note**: Upon installation, you’ll see a message like the following (with `domain.com` replaced by your actual domain and `user` replaced by your cPanel username):
*Attempting to install FrontPage Extensions...*
*Starting install, port: 80.*
*Creating web http://www.domain.com.*
*Chowning Content in service /.*
*Install completed.*
*Starting chown, port: 80, web: "/".*
*DocumentRoot: "/home/user/public_html"*
*Setting Password*
*FrontPage passthrough auth enabled!*
*FrontPage Extensions are currently: installed*
**Troubleshooting**
The options displayed in cPanel will vary depending on whether FrontPage Extensions are already installed. Check the status in the FrontPage Extensions section to confirm if they are currently active on your account.
